Bolin remains flawless and his writers deserve so much love. Can I just say how deeply happy this series makes me for how it’s been four episodes and no one has said “You can do ____? But you’re a GIRL!” once yet. I am so tired of that kludgy old argument hashed out over and over and over since, what, the eighties? Sixties? Forties?
Other shit that I’ve been delighted at so far: women drivers. Women in the police force. Women in the Equalists. Women heiresses. Women commanding the police force. Women on the council. Women reporters. Women running shops. Women competing in pro bending. A gorgeously resounding lack of “It’s not a woman’s place to ____”.
Korra kicking ass is one thing: that no one in her world forces her to stand in for all women everywhere while she does so is another, more beautiful one.

About the work:
Chicago native Anthony Michael Simon first discovered the artistry of the silk-producing arachnids while trekking through a forest in Korea, where he is currently based, looking for a location for his next sculptural art installation. He came across a huge spiderweb and it somehow clicked in his mind that he could catch spiders and have them naturally spin their webs in his studio.
